Mechanical Design Engineer – Smart Wearables

About the role

Lilio Health is developing next‑generation smart baby wearables that give parents insight into their child’s wellbeing. We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design, prototyping and validation of compact, sealed enclosures and soft‑goods components for our skin‑contact devices.

Key responsibilities

• Own mechanical and enclosure design from concept CAD to production tooling.
• Design compact, IP67/IP68‑rated enclosures and integrate magnetic pogo‑pin charging systems.
• Lead DFM/DFA for injection‑molded parts and work with contract manufacturers.
• Create detailed engineering drawings with GD&T to ISO standards and perform tolerance stack‑up analysis.
• Select skin‑safe, biocompatible materials and integrate textile straps, bands and fabric enclosures.
• Run mechanical validation tests (drop, fatigue, ingress, environmental).
• Collaborate with electrical, firmware and industrial design teams to fit PCBs, batteries, sensors and RF components.
• Rapidly prototype using 3D printing, machining and early tooling.

Required profile

• Proven track record designing compact consumer or medical wearables that reached production.
• Experience with textile and soft‑goods integration for wearable products.
• Ability to own the full mechanical stack independently in a startup environment.
• Strong communication with overseas contract manufacturers.
