Prototyping & Additive Manufacturing Technician

About the role

As a Prototyping & Additive Manufacturing Technician you will turn digital designs into physical components for our R&D projects. Working in a fast‑paced workshop, you will support engineers by delivering rapid‑turnaround parts using both additive and subtractive manufacturing methods.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the FDM and resin printer fleet, from slicing to routine maintenance.
• Operate the large‑scale SLS printer, handle PA11 powder cycles and post‑process high‑strength parts.
• Run CNC portal machines, laser cutters and manual lathes to produce one‑off fixtures and components.
• Support assembly of complex subsystems such as radio‑link towers and launcher interfaces.
• Maintain workshop organization, tools, and material stocks.
• Prioritize and schedule small‑job queues, providing realistic timelines to engineers.
• Troubleshoot print failures and machining issues independently.

Required profile

• Completed vocational training as Modellbauer, Industriemechaniker, Feinwerkmechaniker or a comparable technical field.
• Hands‑on experience in a workshop environment with both additive manufacturing and traditional machining.
• Strong interest in 3D printing technologies, especially FDM; experience with resin and SLS is a plus.
