Senior Accountant

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team in Essen. The role offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic, international environment and to contribute to the accuracy and efficiency of our financial reporting processes.

Key responsibilities

• Support the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements in line with group requirements.
• Post journal entries and perform monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Manage intercompany reconciliations and reporting.
• Prepare balance‑sheet reconciliations using SAP S/4HANA and group reporting tools.
• Assist with cash‑flow forecasting and ad‑hoc management reporting.
• Act as a primary contact for auditors, tax advisors and internal departments, supporting audit processes.
• Contribute to finance digitisation and automation initiatives.

Required profile

• Completed commercial training, preferably with a certified accountant qualification (IHK).
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, ideally in a large international organisation.
• Fluent German and strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented, proactive and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Required skills

• Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA and SAP CIM.
• Advanced Excel and MS Office proficiency.
