Senior Buyer

About the role

Mercury, a European leader in construction solutions, is seeking a Senior Buyer to manage the procurement of materials, goods, and services for its projects in Frankfurt. You will optimise cost, quality and service while driving strategic sourcing, value engineering and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full Procure‑to‑Pay cycle from sourcing to invoice clearance.
• Conduct complex bid processes, evaluate commercial offers and negotiate contracts.
• Create procurement schedules and execution plans in collaboration with project and planning teams.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies for core commodities.
• Work on‑site with commercial and construction teams to secure timely, quality delivery within budget.
• Manage logistics, internal reporting and compliance with the Authority Matrix.
• Identify new suppliers, recommend sourcing strategies and mentor junior procurement staff.
• Support proposal preparation and collaborate with other buyers to eliminate wasteful processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in construction or engineering projects.
• Strong ability to manage complex bids, contracts and supplier relationships.
• Excellent negotiation, business acumen and organizational awareness.
• Capacity to work under pressure and deliver results with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to work full‑time on site and mentor junior team members.
