Senior Embedded Systems Test Engineer (All genders)

About the role

You will bridge the gap between software development and hardware integration, designing robust test suites that push our firmware to its limits. The role is lab‑focused, requiring you to "break" systems to improve them and to understand deeply how software interacts with physical circuitry.

Key responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive test plans, cases, and procedures based on functional requirements and design specifications.
• Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts using Robot Framework and Python.
• Configure and operate Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HIL), Software‑in‑the‑Loop (SIL) and Model‑in‑the‑Loop (MIL) environments.
• Utilise oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and protocol analyzers (CAN, SPI, I2C) to debug complex hardware/software interactions.
• Identify, document and track software defects, collaborate with firmware developers for verification and regression testing.
• Ensure testing processes comply with relevant standards such as ISO 26262, IEC 62304 or DO‑178C.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in embedded software testing or development.
• Strong programming skills in Python and experience with Robot Framework.
• Hands‑on experience with embedded RTOSes (e.g., FreeRTOS, Zephyr) or bare‑metal environments.
• Familiarity with communication protocols UART, SPI, I2C and CAN.
• Proficiency with Git, Jira and typical lab equipment such as multimeters, power supplies and J‑Link debuggers.
