Strategy & Operations Lead (Germany)

About the role

As the Strategy & Operations lead for OpenAI in Germany, you will develop country strategies, identify market opportunities and barriers, and drive initiatives to measurable outcomes. This individual‑contributor role focuses on consumer markets while also influencing B2B opportunities across EMEA.

Key responsibilities

• Build country strategies: develop plans, priorities and forecasts for key European markets and translate company strategy into practical local action.
• Drive growth and conversion using data, customer insight and experimentation to improve acquisition, engagement, retention, conversion and monetization.
• Lead market expansion and localization by identifying opportunities, creating scalable launch frameworks and adapting products and go‑to‑market approaches.
• Turn strategy into execution: move initiatives from diagnosis through delivery, measurement and iteration.
• Align cross‑functional teams (Product, Growth, Marketing, Brand, Partnerships, Finance, Research, Operations, Compliance) around shared outcomes.
• Represent regional insight to ensure European market perspectives shape global roadmaps and decisions.
• Define success metrics and scale successful local approaches across the region.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in growth, strategy, business operations or quantitative analytics with responsibility for outcomes.
• Proven track record of developing and executing country or multi‑market strategies.
• Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving skills, including forecasting, financial modeling and growth metrics.
• Demonstrated ability to take initiatives from insight through launch and measurement.
• Strong communication skills with senior stakeholders and ability to influence without formal authority.
• High ownership and urgency in ambiguous, resource‑constrained environments.
• Deep interest in AI and alignment with OpenAI’s mission.
