Working Student / Intern – Control Team (Systems & Data Infrastructure)

About the role

Shape the future of climate tech with Phlair. The company develops electro‑chemical Direct Air Capture technology to pull CO₂ from the air and turn it into carbon‑negative chemicals. Join the Control Team to help build the data infrastructure that powers our experiments.

Key responsibilities

• Build and manage data pipelines from Beckhoff PLCs using OPC‑UA and other fieldbus technologies.
• Design, maintain and scale databases such as InfluxDB and PostgreSQL for experimental data.
• Own the Grafana stack and create intuitive dashboards for scientists.
• Develop internal tools and AI‑enabled workflows in Python to automate data processing.
• Ensure end‑to‑end reliability of data flow from sensors to the cloud, avoiding gaps or downtime.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience with databases and Grafana.
• Understanding of IoT architectures and industrial protocols; OPC‑UA or Beckhoff PLC experience is a plus.
• Strong Python programming skills for data processing and automation.
• High ownership, attention to detail and ability to work on‑site for at least six months.
