Autonomy Software Engineer - Advanced Robotics

About the role

We are looking for an Autonomy Software Engineer to join a venture‑backed robotics scale‑up in Munich. You will work on perception, navigation and decision‑making systems that power the next generation of autonomous robots, collaborating with experts in AI, computer vision, embedded systems and controls.

Key responsibilities

• Develop software for autonomous robotic platforms.
• Build perception and environmental awareness systems.
• Integrate data from cameras, LiDAR, IMUs and other sensors.
• Improve robot navigation, localisation and obstacle‑avoidance capabilities.
• Design and optimise real‑time decision‑making algorithms.
• Support field testing and performance validation activities.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in robotics, autonomy or advanced software engineering.
• Strong development skills in C++ and/or Python.
• Hands‑on experience with robotic systems or autonomous platforms.
• Solid understanding of perception, localisation, navigation or control systems.
• Passion for solving complex real‑world engineering challenges.
