Backend / DevOps Engineer (f/m/x)

About the role

We are looking for a Backend / DevOps Engineer to join our fintech team in Frankfurt. You will work on building and operating data‑driven services that support anti‑money‑laundering and fraud‑detection solutions for regulated financial institutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services in Python on Google Cloud, using Docker containers.
• Design, implement and optimise ETL and enrichment pipelines on BigQuery with SQL and scheduled queries.
• Extend and manage our Terraform‑based infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable automated delivery.
• Work with Google Cloud components such as BigQuery, Cloud Composer, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Cloud Scheduler, Artifact Registry and Secret Manager.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of hands‑on experience building and operating production services on Google Cloud.
• Strong Python programming skills with an emphasis on clean code and reliable data handling.
• Practical experience with Docker, Terraform and CI/CD tools.
• Fluent English; German is a plus.
• Experience in regulated financial environments is a strong advantage.
