Backend Engineer – Node.js & TypeScript

About the role

Mercanis is building an Agentic AI Procurement Suite and seeks a Backend Engineer to design and maintain modern, reliable services. You will work with senior engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver features that add real value for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js, TypeScript, and NestJS.
• Write clean, well‑tested, and maintainable code; participate in code reviews and pairing sessions.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to translate requirements into scalable backend solutions.
• Engage in technical discussions, contribute ideas, and help move concepts to implementation.
• Support the delivery lifecycle through testing, debugging, and monitoring.
• Learn from senior engineers about cloud infrastructure, system design, and performance optimization.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of professional experience as a backend or full‑stack engineer.
• Strong understanding of asynchronous programming, API development, and data handling.
• Experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
• Proficiency in unit testing and code‑quality practices.
• Collaborative mindset, curiosity, and clear communication in English.
