Backend / Full-Stack Software Engineer

About the role

Tuta is a secure email and calendar service whose mission is to bring privacy to the world, with an end-to-end encrypted quantum-safe platform. It has opened a new Munich location in 2024 focused on its secure backend and is looking for a Backend or Full-Stack Developer to join the team there. Applicants must already be located in Germany; relocation is required if you do not live near Munich.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new features in the backend and the apps through daily pair programming
• Help shape the new team at the Munich location
• Automate tests and repetitive tasks
• Exchange with design, marketing and support teams
• Contribute ideas and solutions to the company's future

Required profile

• Very good knowledge of software development, frontend and backend
• Good experience in Java
• Experience in JavaScript / TypeScript
• Enjoyment of teaching others and helping onboard new members
• Agile teamwork, pair programming and clear, open communication
• Very good written and spoken English
• Openness to travel to Hannover approximately once every quarter
