Big Data Architect

About the role

Aliz, a certified Google Cloud partner, is looking for a senior Big Data Architect to join its German team. You will design, build, and maintain cutting‑edge data solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) while working closely with both internal engineers and client technical teams.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement data pipelines, platforms, and warehouses on GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataplex, etc.).
• Act as a trusted GCP consultant and trainer for client engineering teams.
• Participate in client projects, delivering end‑to‑end solutions and promoting best practices.
• Lead technical discussions, resolve conflicts, and manage stakeholder expectations.
• Provide tech leadership, mentorship, and agile guidance to the data team.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of hands‑on coding experience with Java, Python and SQL.
• At least 3 years of professional experience on GCP and/or relevant Google Cloud certifications.
• Strong familiarity with BigQuery, Airflow, Dataflow, Dataplex, Looker and dbt Core/Dataform.
• Background in an IT services or consultancy environment.
• Experience using generative‑AI tools to accelerate software development.
• Excellent English communication skills and fluency in German.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and guide clients on their cloud journey.
