Design Operations Coordinator – Digital & Physical Design

About the role

RIMOWA is seeking a Design Operations Coordinator to bridge digital and physical design concepts. Reporting to the Design Operations Manager, you will work closely with project managers, prototypists, designers, product managers, technical designers and external suppliers to turn design visions into high‑quality, production‑ready solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Translate 2D sketches or rough 3D inputs into detailed CAD models using Alias or Rhino.
• Conduct product feasibility studies, create section cuts, and develop package designs.
• Produce virtual and physical prototypes, style mock‑ups, renderings and Augmented Reality models.
• Manage external partners and suppliers to deliver iterative physical visuals and mock‑ups.
• Operate 3D printers, perform reworks, and build live mock‑ups in collaboration with the model‑making team.
• Coordinate the entire product design development process with all stakeholders to ensure top‑quality final products.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in CAD modelling (Alias or Rhino).
• At least 5 years in product design development, preferably with hard‑side products and high‑quality surfaces.
• Technical background in industrial design or automotive design.
• Fluency in English; German language skills are a plus.

Required skills

• Alias or Rhino CAD software.
• 3D printing expertise.
• Creation of section cuts and analysis of CAD data.
• Knowledge of Class‑A surface creation.
• Integration of technical requirements into CAD models.
