About the role

The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) seeks a qualified Drama Teacher to develop and deliver a comprehensive performing‑arts curriculum for K‑12 students. The role involves fostering creativity, confidence, and collaboration through acting, voice work, and stage presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a curriculum covering acting techniques, voice control, stage presentation, theater history, and script analysis.
• Deliver engaging lessons that develop movement, voice projection, character development, and analytical skills.
• Assess student performance through practical exams, written assignments, and live productions, providing constructive feedback.
• Use drama as a vehicle to teach confidence, teamwork, resilience, and problem‑solving.
• Collaborate with colleagues, communicate with parents, and ensure all academic eligibility requirements are met.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship and proof of eligibility for employment.
• Valid, unencumbered state teaching license in the appropriate content area or equivalent DoDEA certification.
• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with at least 40 semester hours of general education coursework and 18 semester hours in relevant subjects.
• Successful completion of a Tier 1 background investigation and Childcare Checks.
• Willingness to sign transportation and mobility agreements, and to be considered for worldwide placement.

Required skills

• Proficiency in acting techniques, voice control, stage presentation, and theater history.
• Ability to analyze scripts and guide student character development.
• Experience evaluating practical and written student work.
