Employee Relations & HR Manager

About the role

JD.COM is looking for a proactive and strategic Employee Relations & HR Manager to join its German operations. The role serves as a trusted advisor to operational leaders and frontline managers, ensuring HR initiatives align with business goals while fully complying with German employment law.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end employee relations cases, including performance, misconduct, attendance, grievances and disciplinary actions.
• Coach managers on HR practices, local labor legislation and JD.COM policies to ensure consistent people management.
• Draft, review and implement HR policies, employment contracts and related documentation in line with German law and global standards.
• Lead employee transfer and settlement processes during business transfers, handling due diligence, communication, works‑council collaboration and post‑transfer integration.
• Support organizational restructuring, collective consultations with works councils and other change‑management initiatives.
• Collaborate with regional HR teams to embed JD.COM’s culture, core values and operational standards.
• Analyze HR data to improve employee belonging, workflow efficiency and performance‑driven culture.
• Partner with external legal counsel for complex employee relations and transfer matters when needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Human Resources, Labor Law, Business Administration or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
• Relevant experience in employee relations, HR policy development and organizational change within a German context.
• Strong knowledge of German labor law, especially §§ 613a BGB and works‑council processes.
• Excellent communication and advisory skills, with the ability to influence managers at all levels.
