Engineering Manager - Customer Developer Experience

About the role

As an Engineering Manager on the Customer Developer Experience (CDX) team, you will lead engineers who both support external developers integrating our AI‑first e‑commerce platform and build the open‑source tooling that makes those integrations seamless.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate cross‑functionally with product, customer success, data science and other engineering teams to prioritize features and address customer needs.
• Balance hands‑on integration support with long‑term tooling development, ensuring neither customers nor platform scalability suffer.
• Own the full hiring cycle for the team, from pipeline building to interview loops and closing candidates.
• Guide engineers’ career growth through feedback, stretch opportunities and obstacle removal.
• Set technical direction, standards, and quality bar for the team’s stack, tooling and testing practices.
• Lead development of cutting‑edge TypeScript/React UI libraries and maintain open‑source libraries used worldwide.
• Prioritize developer experience for external integrators by delivering intuitive tools, comprehensive documentation and reference examples.

Required profile

• 5+ years of web development experience with at least 2 years leading an engineering team.
• Strong full‑stack background, especially JavaScript and React.
• Experience with production‑critical software and/or data/ETL pipelines.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and triage abilities.
• Comfortable communicating with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• English at B2/C1 level or higher and ability to attend meetings 2‑8 pm UTC.
• Passion for high‑growth startup environments and customer‑focused engineering.
