Engineering Team Lead, B2B Portal

About the role

Distribusion, a ground transportation marketplace connecting bus, rail and ferry operators with online retailers, is looking for an Engineering Team Lead for its eCommerce division, which has grown to more than 50 engineers. The role reports to the Senior Engineering Manager, eCommerce, and combines strong technical expertise with people management. The workplace is remote-first, with the headquarters in Berlin.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, lead and grow engineering teams, covering people development, engagement and hiring
• Take responsibility for architectural design within the domain
• Increase the quality and stability of services
• Plan team resources according to the roadmap on a quarterly basis
• Ensure operational excellence in delivery quality, speed and communication
• Be responsible for incident management

Required profile

• Experienced people leader who has managed front-end or full-stack teams, ideally in scaleups or high-growth organisations of similar size
• Well-rounded engineer who can solve technical issues hands-on and guide system design and coding practices
• Coaching, performance management and senior stakeholder engagement, including customer-facing experience
• Fluent English, spoken and written

Required skills

• ReactJS and Python, with cloud technologies
• Microservice architecture, event-driven approaches and distributed systems
• Tech stack: React.js, Python, React Native, Ruby, Google Cloud, AWS, Azure, Kafka, Redis, Jira

What we offer

• Salary of EUR 90,000 to 105,000 per year
