Field Application Engineer – Customer‑Facing Technical Role

About the role

Hive Robotics is seeking its first dedicated Field Application Engineer to act as the technical face of the company for customers in Germany and beyond. Based in Munich, you will travel to customer sites to deploy, integrate and support cutting‑edge RF communication systems for multi‑vendor drone and robot swarms.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute on‑site deployments, including installation, integration, commissioning and acceptance testing.
• Serve as the first technical point of contact, triaging and resolving issues remotely or on‑site, and escalating to engineering when required.
• Develop and maintain customer‑facing documentation such as user guides, integration notes and FAQs.
• Train operators and technical staff to ensure confident, independent use of Hive’s systems.
• Support sales teams with technical demonstrations, pilots and proof‑of‑concept activities.
• Collect field feedback, reproduce issues and feed structured information back to product and engineering teams.
• Ensure secure handling of export‑controlled and dual‑use information in line with regulations.

Required profile

• Customer‑oriented mindset with willingness to travel regularly to field sites.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and capacity to work closely with engineering and product teams.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Understanding of export‑control and data‑security requirements.
