Field Reliability Engineer – High Voltage Systems

About the role

The Field Reliability Engineering team at Tesla works to enhance the customer experience by reducing field issues across vehicle systems. As a Field Reliability Engineer for High‑Voltage Systems you will be directly involved in failure analysis, root‑cause identification and implementation of corrective actions for infotainment, low‑voltage and power‑electronics components at the Gigafactory Berlin‑Brandenburg.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor field performance of vehicle components, identify trends and prioritize issues based on severity, frequency and cost.
• Conduct detailed failure analysis at board, component or system level to isolate faults.
• Apply mechanical, electrical and PCBA manufacturing knowledge to develop containment and corrective actions.
• Communicate findings to engineering, manufacturing and supplier teams and drive implementation of counter‑measures.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement activities, DFMEA reviews and share lessons learned from previous field issues.
• Support ongoing product and process optimisation for performance, cost and technology.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Power Electronics, Mechatronics or a related field.
• Hands‑on experience in failure analysis, quality or service within consumer electronics or automotive environments (or relevant co‑op/competition experience).
• Ability to navigate software/firmware tools and logs to classify failure modes.
