Field Service Technician – EV Automotive Support

About the role

VINFAST is seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician to join its automotive technical operations team. You will work closely with dealer networks, third‑party providers, and engineering groups to diagnose complex electric‑vehicle issues, resolve urgent technical problems, and support continuous product improvement across Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily with third‑party providers and dealer networks to ensure timely, professional vehicle repairs.
• Provide direct field support to technical teams for urgent vehicle issues.
• Investigate and report high‑profile incidents in collaboration with Legal and Engineering teams.
• Monitor technical requests and collect accurate field data for vehicle development and performance tracking.
• Analyze failure trends, identify design, reliability, and software issues, and escalate to technical support teams.
• Collaborate with Network Managers to improve data quality and transmission to global teams.
• Report critical field issues directly to Engineering to support hardware and software improvements.
• Develop and implement improved service methodologies and maintenance solutions with field teams.
• Contribute to service quality research and continuous improvement of global technical standards.
• Travel frequently across Europe (50–60%) to support repair operations and technical activities.

Required profile

• Staatlich geprüfter Techniker or Kfz‑Mechatroniker qualification (equivalent to BTS or Certificate in Automotive Technology).
• Proven experience as an Automotive Service Technician.
• Strong expertise in advanced vehicle diagnostics and specialized diagnostic software.
• Solid understanding of electrical systems and complex vehicle communication architectures (CAN‑bus, multiplex systems, ECU communication).
• Native or bilingual German proficiency and good technical English skills.
• Clear and effective technical communication with a proactive, problem‑solving mindset.
