Founding Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE)

About the role

You are the engineer on the ground at our biggest DACH customers, based in Munich, working hand in hand with our Deployment Strategist. When a multibillion‑dollar company decides to go AI‑native with Dataleap, you show up at their office, sit with their teams, find the workflows that matter, and ship agents that run in production. You scope, build, integrate, debug, and teach, leaving behind systems the customer can own before moving to the next account.

Key responsibilities

• Embed with our largest DACH customers, running workshops, hackathons, and implementation sprints on site.
• Ship high‑leverage use cases end‑to‑end: complex agents, custom integrations, MCP servers, and multi‑step workflows wired into existing systems such as SAP, internal APIs, and legacy tooling.
• Partner with customer CTOs and platform teams as a technical peer.
• Push our product forward by identifying blockers to customer value and collaborating with engineering to fix them.
• Build agents to automate your own work, eliminating manual effort.

Required profile

• Strong full‑stack engineer who can also go deep (bonus if you know Go).
• AI engineer in practice who has shipped agentic systems, tool‑use loops, and LLM features that operate under load.
• Can scope a complex use case in a morning meeting and deliver a working solution by end of day.
• Has built something from scratch; founder or early‑employee experience is a strong plus.
• Communicates clearly with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• High agency, high clock speed, low ego, high ownership, and a willingness to work very hard.
• Native‑level German speaker based in Munich or ready to relocate.
