Head of Education – Short Courses Lead

About the role

The Head of Education is responsible for the strategic planning, coordination and quality management of the short‑course portfolio. Working primarily from a home office, the role ensures that courses meet clinical standards, market demand and commercial objectives while maintaining strong faculty relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planning, scheduling and development of short courses across multiple venues in partnership with the head of practicals.
• Align courses with educational objectives, market demand and organisational strategy.
• Monitor programme performance, delegate feedback and implement improvements.
• Coordinate speaker availability, course content, logistics and teaching materials.
• Collaborate with Operations to ensure smooth delivery, troubleshoot issues and uphold consistent standards.
• Maintain and develop quality standards for course delivery.
• Track financial performance, support pricing, budgeting and viability decisions.
• Attend selected courses and venues to oversee delivery and support promotion of future offerings.

Required profile

• Proven experience in programme coordination, course development or educational management.
• Strong organisational and project‑management abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for engaging speakers, delegates and internal teams.
• Ability to balance operational oversight with strategic programme development.
• Commercial awareness of programme performance.
• Willingness to travel regularly to venues and attend evening or weekend events.
