Head of Operations

About the role

This senior leadership position will shape and scale the operational foundation of a global, fully remote financial services organization. Based in Germany, the Head of Operations will oversee critical functions such as payments, reconciliations, treasury, and digital asset settlement, ensuring efficiency, resilience, compliance, and exceptional service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive operations strategy aligned with business objectives, focusing on scalability, efficiency, quality, and compliance.
• Lead core operational areas including payments, treasury, reconciliations, card operations, back‑office processes, and digital asset settlement.
• Own operational performance by establishing metrics, controls, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Drive process optimisation, automation and transformation using technology, data and AI‑enabled solutions.
• Create and implement standard operating procedures to improve consistency and visibility.
• Build, mentor and develop a high‑performing operations team, fostering accountability and collaboration.
• Partner with compliance, risk and financial crime teams to meet regulatory requirements.
• Establish operational risk management frameworks and ensure audit readiness.

Required profile

• 10+ years of progressive experience leading operations in banking, fintech, financial services or wealth management.
• Proven ability to scale complex operational functions in a regulated environment.
• Strategic thinker with strong risk management and people‑leadership capabilities.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams across payments, treasury, and digital assets.
