Head of People – Munich

About the role

The Giorgio Armani Group is seeking a dynamic Head of People to lead its Human Resources function for Germany and Austria from the Munich head office. Reporting to senior executive management, you will shape and execute the people strategy, ensuring alignment with the global HR vision of this luxury fashion brand.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for HR across Germany and Austria, managing a local HR team.
• Design and implement recruitment strategies, build talent pipelines, and oversee hiring for key positions.
• Direct payroll, benefits administration, and ensure compliance with German (and Austrian) tax and social security regulations.
• Manage the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding to performance management, development, retention and off‑boarding.
• Act as a trusted business partner to the Executive Management Team and advise managers on people‑related matters.
• Develop the local HR strategy in collaboration with the Milan headquarters and align it with the Group’s global HR roadmap.
• Maintain constructive relations with the Works Council and handle employee‑relations issues, including employment law matters.
• Lead annual performance and salary review processes and provide compensation recommendations.
• Drive organizational development, change management, and implementation of HRIS platforms and analytics.

Required profile

• University degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or a comparable field.
• Several years of senior HR leadership experience, preferably in an international retail, fashion or luxury environment.
• Deep knowledge of German employment law; Austrian law is a plus.
• Proven expertise in talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations and organizational development.
• Strong background in payroll, compensation & benefits and HR compliance.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex HR projects and drive change across borders.

Required skills

• Experience with HRIS platforms and HR data analytics.
