HR Generalist – Build HR Operations in Munich

About the role

Hades is looking for its first HR Generalist to design and run the core HR operations for a fast‑growing deep‑tech startup in Munich. You will own payroll, contracts, onboarding, and compliance, working directly with the founders and talent lead.

Key responsibilities

• Process end‑to‑end payroll in line with German labor law.
• Draft, issue, and manage employment contracts and amendments.
• Lead onboarding and off‑boarding for new hires.
• Maintain personnel files and HR records complying with GDPR/BDSG.
• Serve as the primary contact for employee queries on benefits, leave, and HR policies.
• Track and administer employee benefits programs.
• Help create and document HR policies and processes as the team expands.
• Coordinate with external providers such as tax advisors, social insurance agencies, and benefits partners.

Required profile

• Vocational training or degree in HR, business administration, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in HR generalist, HR administration, or payroll roles in Germany.
• Working knowledge of German labor, payroll, and social‑insurance law.
• Fluent in English; German proficiency preferred.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and comfortable handling confidential information.
• Ability to work independently and build processes from scratch in a startup environment.

Required skills

• Experience with HR/payroll software such as Personio or DATEV.
