HR Operations Manager (12‑month Fixed‑Term, Remote)

About the role

We are looking for an HR Operations Manager on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract to support a newly acquired business in Germany. The role is fully remote, with occasional travel to Germany, and will work closely with Group HR and local leadership to ensure consistent, compliant HR practices.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, document, and maintain HR processes across the employee lifecycle.
• Create and implement HR templates (contracts, letters, policies) aligned with local requirements and organisational standards.
• Establish scalable processes that support business needs and compliance.
• Coordinate monthly payroll inputs with external providers and ensure accurate, timely submission.
• Maintain HR systems and employee data records, including Workday.
• Support day‑to‑day employee‑relations matters in line with German employment law.
• Engage with works councils on operational topics and provide guidance to managers.
• Ensure HR operations comply with German legislation and internal standards, maintaining audit‑ready documentation.
• Partner with local leadership to provide HR support aligned with business priorities and act as the main HR contact for operational matters.
• Provide guidance to junior HR or administrative staff where applicable.

Required profile

• Experience managing HR operations in Germany.
• Knowledge of German employment law and HR processes.
• Experience coordinating payroll and engaging with works councils.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Clear and effective communication with a range of stakeholders.
• Capability to manage operational responsibilities alongside process improvement.
