Human Resources Business Manager – Germany

About the role

Sonae Sierra is seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Manager to lead the People & Culture agenda across Germany. This high‑visibility position combines deep expertise in German labour law with the ability to challenge the status quo and drive strategic change within a multinational real‑estate organization.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with People Leaders in Germany on operational and strategic HR topics.
• Deploy the global People & Culture strategy locally, aligning initiatives with business priorities.
• Act as a trusted advisor, providing insight, challenge, and pragmatic recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with HR policies, German labour law, and internal regulations.
• Represent People & Culture at the country level for legal, regulatory, and works‑council matters.
• Participate in international and national HR projects, voicing the needs of German employees.
• Collaborate with HR Centres of Excellence and other Business Partners to co‑create solutions.

Required profile

• Degree in Human Resources, Law, Business Administration, Psychology or related field; HR‑specific training is a plus.
• At least 10 years of HR Business Partner experience in a complex, international environment.
• Strong knowledge of German labour law and experience representing HR at country level.
• Proven track record in both strategic HR topics (organisation, talent, culture) and hands‑on operational work.
• Business‑oriented mindset with a drive to contribute to company performance.
• Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills.
