Intern Data Scientist – Engineering Strategy & Make‑or‑Buy Optimization

About the role

Airbus Helicopters is seeking a motivated intern to join the Engineering Strategy team in Donauwörth. You will support data‑driven decision making for make‑or‑buy analyses and help shape the future of helicopter production.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in quantitative Make‑vs‑Buy decision modelling for engineering projects.
• Aggregate, clean and structure technical data for the Large Work Package (LWP) framework.
• Develop tools to track CSR impact of the “Disability Friendly Company” initiative.
• Collaborate with engineering leads to extract, transform and visualise project data, identifying cost‑saving opportunities.

Required profile

• Enrolled full‑time student in Data Science or a related field.
• First practical experience with make‑or‑buy modelling is a plus.
• Fluent in English; German language skills are advantageous.
• Strong communication abilities and an interest in industrial and procurement logic.
