Liaison Officer

About the role

The Liaison Officer will serve as the primary point of contact between the command and a variety of interagency partners, including national agencies, DoD components, U.S. intelligence agencies, and other commands. This position ensures coordination of special‑operations plans, policies, exercises, and strategies within the assigned Area of Responsibility.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with interagency working groups, national agencies, DoD agencies, and U.S. intelligence agencies.
• Develop, coordinate, and implement special‑operations plans, policies, exercises, and strategies.
• Review and analyze OPLANS and CONPLANS for feasibility, technical accuracy, and integration of special‑mission content.
• Conduct liaison with Theater Commands, inter‑agencies, and USSOCOM to meet command plans, policy, and exercise objectives.
• Formulate, monitor, and report on budget and resource execution objectives.
• Enhance interoperability and inform senior commanders of operational developments.
• Travel up to 15% of the time on temporary duty assignments and be prepared for short‑notice recall.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship with proof required.
• Eligibility for Top Secret security clearance with SCI.
• Ability to complete a background investigation, drug test, and meet selective‑service certification (for male applicants born after 12/31/1959).
• Compliance with the Exceptional Family Member Program and DoD civilian personnel regulations.
• Valid U.S. passport and residence within a 50‑mile radius of the duty location.
• Willingness to work uncommon hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
