Localization Lead – French

About the role

The Localization Lead – French is responsible for delivering high‑quality, culturally relevant content for Booking.com’s French‑speaking markets. You will ensure that all localization work is completed on time, within budget, and aligned with brand standards. The role acts as the market’s localization ambassador, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors.

Key responsibilities

• Guarantee on‑time delivery of all French localization projects.
• Monitor and improve the quality of localized content, providing feedback to vendors and escalating issues to the central Quality Team.
• Oversee product testing for the French market conducted by third‑party vendors.
• Manage localization assets such as style guides, glossaries, and translation memories.
• Assess, onboard, and maintain relationships with translation vendors and linguists.
• Provide urgent ad‑hoc marketing translations as needed.

Required profile

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience in vendor management and quality assurance for multilingual content.
• Ability to identify systemic quality issues and propose improvements.
• Proactive mindset with a focus on market‑specific localization strategy.

• Proficiency with Translation Memory tools.
