Mechanical Design Engineer – Chassis (Berlin)

About the role

Join Tesla's Chassis Design Engineering team in Berlin as a Mechanical Design Engineer. You will be responsible for taking chassis components from concept through production, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety, performance, and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimise component designs using 3D CAD software and associated CAE tools.
• Validate manufacturing, assembly and service feasibility of designs.
• Produce and release complete design documentation, including 2D drawings.
• Validate components against defined engineering requirements.
• Resolve technical issues in collaboration with cross‑functional teams (engineering, firmware, supply chain, production, service).
• Participate in the sourcing process and manage engineering relationships with suppliers.
• Deliver design milestones according to defined schedules.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Proficiency with a 3D CAD tool (CATIA experience is a plus).
• Basic knowledge of GD&T (advanced proficiency is a plus).
• Experience in component design, analysis and validation.
• Strong technical and interpersonal communication skills.
• Self‑starter attitude with the ability to manage projects independently.
