Mechanical Engineer – Data Centre Project in Munich

About the role

SilverBack is recruiting a Mechanical Engineer for a major data‑centre construction project in Munich, Germany. You will lead on‑site mechanical teams, coordinate with subcontractors, and ensure the successful delivery of HVAC, cooling, firefighting and plumbing systems.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and assign work schedules to mechanical teams and subcontractors.
• Plan, coordinate and supervise daily site activities.
• Oversee installation of chillers, AHUs, pumps, HVAC, cooling, firefighting and plumbing systems.
• Manage data‑centre mechanical systems, including redundancy connections.
• Track scope changes, engineering updates, non‑conformities and technical queries.
• Review work procedures, method statements and recommend improvements.
• Coordinate with civil, electrical and other disciplines to ensure integrated delivery.
• Support hiring, training and performance evaluation of team members.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum 10 + years of experience in a similar role.
• Proven experience on data‑centre projects.
• Strong organisational, planning and negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication in English and Spanish.
