Middle Accountant

About the role

Xsolla Berlin GmbH is seeking a hands‑on Middle Accountant to take full ownership of the bookkeeping and financial accounting for its German entity. You will work independently on the complete accounting cycle, ensuring accurate books, timely month‑end close, and compliance with German regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Own full‑cycle bookkeeping, including bank reconciliations, accounts payable invoice processing, and journal entries.
• Prepare monthly trial balances, supporting schedules, and month‑end closing activities.
• Manage intercompany accounting and reconciliations across the multinational group.
• Ensure compliance with German GAAP (HGB) and GoBD documentation/retention requirements.
• Support the migration from DATEV to NetSuite and oversee the localization/integration period.
• Prepare and file VAT returns (Umsatzsteuervoranmeldung/Umsatzsteuererklärung) and corporate income tax returns, and assist in the preparation of the annual financial statements (Jahresabschluss).
• Provide data packages and documentation for external tax advisors and auditors.
• Assist with fixed‑asset accounting, accruals, provisions, and payroll‑related accounting entries.

Required profile

• Hands‑on accountant who takes ownership of tasks and deadlines.
• Fluent in German and English, detail‑oriented and comfortable with tight schedules.
• Motivated to support a growing international entity and enjoy keeping numbers clean and timely.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of German GAAP (HGB) and GoBD requirements.
• Experience with DATEV and NetSuite accounting systems.
• Proficiency in VAT and corporate tax filing for Germany.
• Ability to handle intercompany accounting, month‑end close, and journal entries.
