Part-time Spanish Teacher (International School)

About the role

The International School Groningen is looking for a part‑time Spanish Teacher (0.2 FTE) to inspire students aged 11‑18 to discover the Spanish language and culture. You will create a positive, structured learning environment where pupils feel confident to develop their language skills and express themselves.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and evaluate engaging Spanish lessons for mixed‑ability groups.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Use a variety of teaching methods to make lessons relevant to everyday experiences.
• Foster intercultural awareness and inclusive classroom dynamics.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and school activities.

Required profile

• Experienced secondary‑school teacher of Spanish.
• Fluent in English, the working language of the school.
• Dynamic, motivated and able to differentiate instruction.
• Awareness of intercultural and inclusive educational environments.
• Willingness to take an active role within the school community.

Required skills

• Proficiency in teaching Spanish as a foreign language (ELE).
• Ability to employ varied instructional strategies.
• Classroom management and student engagement techniques.
• Effective communication in English.
