PostDoc Lab Automation and Digitalization

About the role

Join BASF Agricultural Solutions as a PostDoc in the Environmental Fate and Structure team. You will lead the design, implementation and management of lab automation workflows to improve the environmental profiling of crop protection candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain automated laboratory workflows.
• Develop and optimise high‑throughput assays for the environmental fate of small molecules.
• Operate and fine‑tune liquid‑handling systems.
• Plan, coordinate and present project results to multidisciplinary teams.
• Leverage AI tools and digital assistants to enhance data‑driven decision making.

Required profile

• PhD in Chemistry, Environmental Sciences or a related discipline.
• Proven expertise in laboratory automation and liquid‑handling equipment.
• Strong knowledge of data analysis and data management.
• Hands‑on experience with chromatography is desirable.
• Programming skills (Python) are an advantage.
• Excellent English communication; advanced German is a plus.
• Digital mindset with interest in AI‑supported processes.
