Principal Business Development Collection Expansion

About the role

As a Principal Business Development Collection Expansion you will lead Westwing's entry into new markets. Based in Munich, you will own the end‑to‑end project plan, ensure product compliance, and shape the collection portfolio for local customers.

Key responsibilities

• Define and manage the full market‑expansion project plan, including milestones, budgets, resources and dependencies.
• Drive product compliance by coordinating with internal quality experts and external certification bodies.
• Select and adapt the Westwing Collection portfolio to meet local demand, pricing and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain a detailed compliance and readiness checklist and close gaps before launch.
• Report progress, risks and milestones to senior leadership and resolve roadblocks.
• Establish a reusable governance model for future expansions.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in project management, business development or market expansion, preferably in international retail or e‑commerce.
• Proven track record of delivering complex, multi‑stakeholder projects with strict timelines and compliance needs.
• Experience adapting product assortments for new markets.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to work with quality, product and external certification teams.
• Highly structured, detail‑oriented and process‑driven approach.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
