Project Manager – Auxiliaries in Traction Business

About the role

ABB is looking for a Project Manager to lead auxiliary power system projects within its Traction Business. Based in Berlin, you will act as the primary customer contact, coordinate project schedules, and ensure delivery of power electronics solutions for locomotives, high‑speed trains, trams and buses.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the main customer liaison from project initiation, representing ABB’s interests and handling negotiations.
• Create, coordinate and maintain an integrated project schedule, aligning the team and managing risks.
• Oversee all project activities, manage change processes, and generate additional offers when deviations occur.
• Monitor and control project costs and timelines, providing regular status updates to management.
• Ensure contractual delivery, close financial aspects and document lessons learned.
• Estimate effort for bids, collaborate with the Bid Manager and support customer negotiations.

Required profile

• Completed degree in engineering or business administration (university of applied sciences).
• Professional experience in project management, preferably in power electronics and railway applications.
• Experience with contract, claim, change and configuration management.
• PMP or equivalent project‑management certification.
• Fluent German and English, both written and spoken.
