Ratings and Research Support Intern (German Speaking) – Financial Institutions

About the role

Moody's is looking for a German-speaking Ratings and Research Support intern for its Financial Institution Group in Frankfurt. The role sits within the Ratings and Research Support (RRS) program and is an internally facing position reporting to a Team Manager. It suits current students and offers a 3-6 month full-time (Praktikum) or 6-month part-time (Werkstudent/Working Student) placement starting in Q1 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Support analytical teams as needed, for example by taking part in case studies that deepen analytical understanding
• Work on analytical, research, data and process-related projects
• Collect data and identify trends to support well-reasoned credit conclusions
• Prepare financial documents, charts and presentations
• Monitor media outlets for news on special projects or portfolios
• Provide analytical and research support to rating teams
• Contribute to the creation of research publications

Required profile

• Student pursuing a Bachelor's degree (possible) or preferably a Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics or another quantitative field
• Fluency in English and German is essential; the CV must be submitted in English
• Availability to start in Q1 2027 for 3-6 months full-time or 6 months part-time

Required skills

• Good understanding of key concepts and drivers of the banking industry
• Background in accounting or statistics (e.g. coursework, CFA or equivalent)
• Basic understanding of AI concepts and interest in using AI tools responsibly, including risk management and ethics
• Independent work, attention to detail, analytical thinking and good written and spoken communication
