Satellite Ground Segment Crypto AIT & Operations Engineer (d/m/w) – National Crypto Verification

About the role

Airbus is seeking a Satellite Ground Segment Crypto AIT & Operations Engineer to lead the development, integration, verification and operation of national space‑crypto solutions. You will work within the Space Engineering division in Friedrichshafen, collaborating with experts in secure space systems, software AIT and satellite operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and verify end‑to‑end crypto solutions for new ground segments.
• Develop and validate test procedures or scripts that assess crypto functions and devices.
• Conduct functional integration and verification tests for crypto systems, following ECSS standards.
• Produce verification documentation and migrate existing crypto chains to cloud‑based environments.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to the transformation plan for high‑performance ground‑space mission solutions.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
• Experience with satellite ground segment development and crypto system engineering.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage complex technical tasks.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ECSS (European Cooperation for Space Standardization) standards.
• Experience in software development for test automation.
• Understanding of cryptographic concepts applied to space systems.
