Site Reliability Engineer - Core Platform

About the role

Exoscale, a Swiss/European cloud service provider, is hiring a Site Reliability Engineer to help ensure constant availability of its platform. The role focuses on designing, developing and maintaining the core platform and security components. It is based in Madrid, Munich or can be done remotely within the EU.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain the core Linux-based platform ecosystem
• Develop and manage PKI, secrets management and security systems
• Contribute to internal platform tooling, automation and orchestration
• Deliver self-service systems and pipelines to improve developer experience
• Take part in platform architecture and design, and in code and change reviews
• Improve processes for scalability, security and high availability
• Join the on-call rotation after a training period

Required profile

• EU citizenship required for team members
• Comfortable working in a distributed team and strong written and spoken English
• Candidates who are not yet familiar with all topics but are willing to learn are encouraged to apply

Required skills

• Linux, including networking and security filtering
• Golang (mandatory)
• PKI knowledge; experience with HashiCorp Vault is a plus
• Service discovery and DNS at scale
• Kubernetes is a plus
• KVM virtualization and configuration management
