Software Engineer API – Node.js & SQL

About the role

We are looking for a backend specialist who thrives at the intersection of stability and scalability. Working remotely by default, you will join our Berlin‑based team for collaborative sessions and help shape the future of our API platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain robust micro‑services that enable seamless communication between internal and external systems.
• Own features from concept through production deployment, ensuring high quality and reliability.
• Contribute to the technical roadmap by questioning the status quo and proposing scalable architectural solutions.
• Implement and refine authentication and authorisation flows (OAuth, Auth0) to keep systems secure.
• Optimise the data layer using deep SQL and PostgreSQL expertise to solve complex performance challenges.

Required profile

• Strong passion for writing clean, maintainable, type‑safe code in Node.js and TypeScript.
• Data‑architect mindset with experience designing efficient PostgreSQL schemas and queries.
• Commitment to quality through automated testing (Jest/Mocha) and CI/CD best practices.
• Comfortable with Docker, Git and modern DevOps pipelines.
