Software Engineer - Fully Remote

About the role

Mercor is seeking experienced software engineers to join its remote enterprise team. You will work on a variety of language‑specific projects, contributing to high‑performance toolchains and production systems for leading AI research labs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver coding tasks across multiple enterprise languages.
• Design, evaluate, and improve system toolchains using C and Rust.
• Enhance JVM‑based ecosystems and build platforms with C#, Kotlin, Scala, and Swift.
• Optimize production web and operations scripts written in Ruby, PHP, and Perl.
• Support scientific and quantitative computing workloads using R.
• Work independently and asynchronously to meet project deadlines.

Required profile

• Strong professional experience in at least one of the listed language domains.
• Deep understanding of language internals, tooling, and real‑world production constraints.
• Ability to reason about edge cases, performance, and system‑design trade‑offs.
• Detail‑oriented with excellent written feedback skills.
