Software Engineering Intern – AI Applications

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineering Intern to develop full‑stack AI‑driven applications that improve HR processes at Tesla’s Gigafactory Berlin‑Brandenburg. You will work with modern AI/LLM tools, build end‑to‑end solutions, and see your code deployed for thousands of employees.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and ship full‑stack software that addresses real HR challenges.
• Own projects from problem definition through coding, deployment and maintenance.
• Integrate AI and large‑language‑model capabilities into production applications.
• Collaborate with HR partners, data engineers and recruiting teams to gather requirements.
• Apply software‑engineering best practices such as version control, CI/CD pipelines and containerisation.

Required profile

• Proven experience building and deploying applications that are used by others (e.g., side projects, freelance work, open‑source contributions).
• Strong programming fundamentals and quick learning ability.
• Self‑starter with a bias for action and impact‑oriented mindset.
• Excellent English; German is a plus.

Required skills

• Web development with TypeScript and React (or similar frameworks).
• Experience with large‑language‑model (LLM) integration and AI agents.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes and PostgreSQL.
• Version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines and containerisation.
