Student Support Teacher – English Language Acquisition (Grade 9)

About the role

BBIS is seeking a full‑time Student Support Teacher to provide targeted English language acquisition and learning support for three Grade 9 students. The role focuses on developing academic language, executive functioning, and social‑emotional adjustment to help learners thrive in an international secondary school environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver small‑group and individual English language immersion sessions.
• Support students in accessing subject‑specific curriculum language and academic expectations.
• Provide pre‑teaching, re‑teaching, scaffolding, and consolidation to reinforce mainstream lessons.
• Assist with organisation, planning, study skills, and executive functioning.
• Collaborate with subject teachers, EAL team, learning support, counselling, and leadership.
• Adapt learning materials and advise on inclusive classroom strategies.
• Maintain records of interventions, progress, and next steps; contribute to individual support plans.

Required profile

• Relevant teaching qualification and experience working with secondary‑school learners.
• Demonstrated ability to support English language acquisition and learners with additional needs.
• Strong collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to fostering independence and confidence in students.

• Competitive gross salary €55,059 – €61,885 per year, adjusted annually for CPI.
