Systems Specialist

About the role

As a Systems Specialist you will ensure that cutting‑edge virtual advertising technology runs flawlessly for live sports broadcasts. Based in Cologne and on‑site at events across Europe, you will combine hands‑on technical expertise with real‑time event delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, configure, test and maintain systems for live sporting events.
• Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, repairs and software updates on operational equipment.
• Manage system inventory, documentation and deployment readiness.
• Support integration, acceptance testing and validation of new hardware and software.
• Identify recurring technical issues and contribute to reliability improvements.
• Provide operator training, demonstrations and internal technical testing.
• Deploy as system operator and technical lead during live productions, monitoring and troubleshooting hardware, software and workflow issues in real time.
• Collaborate directly with broadcasters, production teams and clients on‑site and remotely.
• Produce post‑event reports and recommend operational enhancements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in live broadcast, sports production, AV or IP‑based media environments.
• Strong technical troubleshooting abilities across hardware, software and networking.
• Experience with server hardware and technical systems.
• Professional proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Willingness to travel regularly, often at short notice, across Germany, Europe and occasionally worldwide.
