Team Lead - Data Platform

About the role

AMBOSS is looking for a Data Platform Lead to head a small senior data‑engineering team. The role combines technical ownership of the end‑to‑end data platform with business‑forward responsibilities, ensuring reliable data for product, commercial and medical decisions worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the roadmap for the data platform, ERP integrations and internal data services.
• Maintain the company’s Single Source of Truth, aligning metrics across analysts, data scientists and stakeholders.
• Recruit, mentor and grow a team of 3‑5 Data Engineers, establishing clear goals and feedback cycles.
• Architect scalable batch and real‑time pipelines, data models, governance, observability and CI/CD processes.
• Build and operate small internal tools such as the master‑data‑management service for medical institutions.
• Collaborate continuously with Commercial, Product, Finance, Operations and Medical teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading data‑engineering teams in a senior or lead capacity.
• Strong business orientation with the ability to communicate with cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Hands‑on mindset, capable of making fast prioritisation and judgement calls.
• Deep understanding of modern cloud‑native data stacks and ERP integration.
