Team Leader - Software Development

About the role

IQM is looking for a Team Leader to guide a growing software development team that builds the core foundations of its quantum computers. The role sits at the intersection of research and engineering, ensuring that software is dependable, scalable, and ready for long‑term impact.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of software engineers, fostering strong delivery and sustainable ways of working.
• Provide coaching, regular 1:1s, and career development conversations to support individual growth.
• Clarify priorities with product owners and align the team’s work with broader company goals.
• Contribute to department‑level planning, process development, and continuous improvement of development workflows.
• Maintain lean, scalable development and release practices while ensuring sustainable quality.
• Drive clarity in ownership, decision‑making, and cross‑team collaboration.
• Ensure compliance with relevant software standards (e.g., IEC 62443‑4‑1) where applicable.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders across software, hardware, and research to deliver integrated solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading a software development team in a product environment.
• Strong background in delivering and maintaining production software with lean release practices.
• Solid understanding of modern software engineering practices.
• Experience working in complex, cross‑functional, multi‑location settings.
• Ability to create clarity, drive alignment, and make pragmatic decisions.
• Excellent communication skills and a structured leadership approach.
