Confirmed Backend Engineer – Payment Squad

About the role

We are seeking a Confirmed Backend Engineer to join our Payment Squad in Germany. You will help build secure, scalable, and reliable payment systems that serve millions of users worldwide, working across the full software development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in the complete application lifecycle: design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support.
• Develop and scale payment systems covering the full transaction lifecycle, fraud prevention, and compliance.
• Integrate and maintain multiple payment methods and collaborate with external payment service providers.
• Work closely with product managers, designers, and frontend engineers to deliver user‑centric solutions.
• Ensure high platform reliability, performance, and scalability through strong engineering and operational practices.
• Share technical expertise with cross‑functional stakeholders and contribute to architectural discussions.
• Collaborate within an agile squad while taking ownership of backend services and payment‑related features.

Required profile

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience in fast‑growing or product‑focused environments.
• Strong proficiency in Java and hands‑on experience with Spring, Spring Boot, JUnit, and Mockito.
• Practical experience with Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and monitoring/observability tools such as Datadog.
• Solid understanding of service‑oriented architectures and ability to apply appropriate patterns.
• Full professional proficiency in English and strong communication skills.
