About the role

Jackson Hewitt is seeking entry‑level, seasonal tax preparers to join its fast‑paced teams across the United States. You will work directly with clients to prepare accurate federal and state tax returns while providing guidance and support throughout the filing process.

Key responsibilities

• Gather client information and explain tax filing requirements.
• Prepare and complete year‑end, multi‑year, and multi‑state tax forms accurately.
• Provide audit support and answer IRS‑related questions.
• Submit electronic filings and deliver printed copies for client review and signature.
• File completed returns electronically with the IRS and relevant state agencies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; no prior tax experience required.
• Ability to obtain a PTIN (Preparer Tax Identification Number).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under seasonal deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude.
