Senior Specialist – Executive Compensation & Benefits

About the role

As a Senior Specialist in Executive Compensation and Benefits, you will lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of global compensation programs for BASF Agricultural Solutions. You will work at the heart of the organization, ensuring competitive and compliant remuneration for executives and board members.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and evolve global compensation and benefits programs, including grading, performance management and executive remuneration.
• Manage target‑setting processes and drive the execution of short‑term incentives (STI), long‑term incentives (LTI) and merit cycles.
• Conduct global benchmarking and market analyses to keep compensation structures market‑aligned.
• Prepare the annual compensation report and support the preparation of the Annual General Meeting.
• Act as subject‑matter expert for the global compensation portfolio, collaborating with HR, Finance, Legal and external partners.
• Contribute to building and shaping a new HR organization while monitoring market trends and regulatory developments.

Required profile

• University degree in business administration, economics, human resources or a related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in compensation and benefits, preferably in a global, complex environment with executive remuneration exposure.
• Strong expertise in compensation frameworks, grading, regulatory requirements and market benchmarking.
• Proven ability to leverage digital and AI‑enabled tools for data‑driven decision making.
• Fluent German and English communication skills.
